Existing legislation on labour inspection in Georgia does not address the challenges the country faces and doesn’t comply with international labour standards, according to newly published research conducted by the Human Rights Education and Monitoring Centre.
The bodies of militants killed on 19 December, during an attack on Chechen law enforcement officers, have been buried in unmarked graves in Chechnya, their relatives claim. The burial ground is likely located near the prison in the village of Chernokozovo, in the Naursky District of northern Chechnya.

Police arrested Georgian national and alleged assassin for the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) Temur Makhauri, better known as Zona, in Kiev on 16 January, Ukrainian media reports. Although originally from Chechnya, Makhauri held a Georgian passport and was driving a car with Georgian plates when he was detained.
Two Chechens have been detained in the city of Surgut, in the Khanty-Mansiysk District of central Russia for extorting money from a local businessman of Chechen origin, Zubayr Zaynadiyev. The pair imitated the voice of Chechen president Ramzan Kadyrov in order to convince Zaynadiyev to hand over money.
