Mamuka Mdinaradze, the head of Georgia’s State Security Service (SSG), also claimed the embassy has staff in Georgia for ‘revolutionary purposes’.

Mamuka Mdinaradze is replacing Anri Okhanashvili, who is intending to remain Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze’s national security advisor.

This is the latest in a series of statements by Georgian Dream regarding visa-free travel with the EU.

In March, Mdinaradze said that the opposition parties ‘will not be able to participate in the elections to local government bodies’.
