A member of the Azerbaijani pro-democracy group, NIDA, has been imprisoned for 30 days on charges of hooliganism and disobeying the police in Baku. Mete Turksoy was arrested on 30 October at the Ganjlik Metro Station in Baku following a dispute with police officers who asked to search his bag. Azerbaijani court acquits NIDA activists

The Supreme Court of Azerbaijan has acquitted four members of NIDA, an Azerbaijani pro-democracy movement, overruling a 2014 conviction on drugs and weapons charges. The four were arrested in the spring of 2013 after organising protests against non-combat deaths in the military.
