Mass protests against Georgian Dream’s about face on EU accession continue for fourth night

Protesters gathered en masse in Tbilisi and other cities across Georgia for the fourth night in a row after Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze’s surprise announcement on Thursday that the government was postponing its EU accession bid until 2028.  As with previous nights demonstrators started gathering in the evening in front of the parliaments. Resignations hit Georgian Government as protests rock country for third night

At least four Georgian ambassadors have resigned in protest as police clashed with protesters for a third night on Saturday following the government’s U-turn on EU integration. The country’s ambassador to Bulgaria stepped down on Friday and on Saturday the ambassadors to the Netherlands, Italy, and Lithuania followed suit.
