A drone attack has hit the barracks of the Akhmat Kadyrov special police regiment in Chechnya, wounding four officers. Following the attack, Chechen head Ramzan Kadyrov promised revenge. Kadyrov confirmed the attack, which he claimed took place at 1:00 on 12 December, noting that the drone had been ‘shot down’ causing ‘a small fire that was quickly extinguished’.  Writing on Telegram, Kadyrov also stated that four officers had been wounded as a result of the attack.  The casualty figures c

According to a video message shared on Telegram on Wednesday, soldiers from the 7th Russian Military Base in Abkhazia are being sent to the frontlines of Ukraine instead of receiving treatment at a military medical commission. Chechen head Ramzan Kadyrov has suggested that Ukrainian POWs should be used as human shields at potential military targets. Residents of Chechnya are reporting in local online chat rooms about an explosion they heard on Wednesday morning, which they believe could have been caused by a Ukrainian drone attack on one of the security forces’ facilities in Chechnya. A man accused of burning a Quran who was subsequently assaulted by Ramzan Kadyrov’s son in detention has been sentenced to a total of 14 years in prison for collaborating with Ukraine.
