Armenia ratifies Lanzarote Convention
Armenia’s National Assembly ratified the Lanzarote Convention on the Protection of Children against Sexual Exploitation and Sexual Abuse despite protests by conservative groups including the country’s largest opposition party, Prosperous Armenia. The ratification vote took place on 11 May. The Council of Europe’s Lanzarote Convention was signed by Armenia on 29 September 2010.
