Samvel Karapetyan casts vote
Russian–Armenian billionaire Samvel Karapetyan has cast his vote, despite being under house arrest on charges of calling for the usurpation of power, as well as separate money-laundering charges.
Karapetyan, who founded the Strong Armenia party in 2025 and nominally leads the Strong Armenia alliance from house arrest, remains the group’s candidate for prime minister, despite being constitutionally barred from the post due to holding citizenship of another country.
