Armenia adopts new strategic agenda with the EU

Armenia must meet a number of conditions before its citizens can enjoy visa-free travel, and progress is rarely fast.

Armenian Interior Minister Arpine Sargsyan said it was a ‘historic step’ on the path to securing visa-free access to the EU.

He said Armenia’s relations with the EU are at their ‘historically highest level’.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan emphasised, however, that the usage of the term would not distract them from celebrating the peace achieved.

The announcement was made during EU Enlargement Commissioner Marta Kos’ visit to Armenia.

Notably, 61% of respondents said they did not trust any political figure.
